Starting off in Nairobi, we’ll take you into Tanzania to the town of Arusha, perfectly situated to enjoy the optional excursions into the legendary Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area for some close encounters with Africa’s wildlife. Onward to Dar es Salaam and the island of Zanzibar, an island paradise with a deep and fascinating history as one the most important medieval trading stations in the world. Then it’s on to Lake Malawi, where we can enjoy a range of water-sports like snorkelling, canoeing, swimming or even SCUBA diving. Continuing to Victoria Falls, we have the opportunity of taking part in bungee jumping, white-water rafting or taking a flight over the falls in a range of airborne machines.
Crossing into Botswana, we stop at the Chobe National Park, one of Botswana’s premier game parks, famous for its large herds of elephant. We then continue to the Okavango Delta, the biggest inland delta in the world and home to a huge variety of plant, animal and bird life. Namibia’s next on our list, and we’ll have a chance to experience Etosha National Park, a sprawling 20 000 sq. Km game park teeming with animal and bird species, and featuring floodlit waterholes at Namutoni and Okakuejo camps. Onward to Swakopmund, a German colonial town founded in the 19th century, we then head through Sossusvlei, surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. This is the heart of the ancient Namib Desert. After the Fish River Canyon, the Orange River and the beautiful wine-growing regions of Namaqualand and Ceres, we arrive in Cape Town on day 42 of our epic African adventure.
Along the way, you’ll travel in a fully-equipped expedition truck and enjoy the services of our three-man crew (leader, cook and driver). We’ll supply most of your meals, provide camping fees and appropriate camping gear and cover road taxes and tolls.
