Cardrona Alpine Resort - the resort
"Higher, Drier and Naturally Better". This is the slogan of Cardrona Alpine Resort, located between Wanaka and Queenstown in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Cardrona is a high resort with wide open slopes, renowned among skiers and snowboarders for dry, natural snow, and a reliable season that runs from late June to early October. Its extensive ski area, large open basins, halfpipes, gravity cross course and terrain park trails make it a popular playground for freestyle skiers and boarders. The courses
You will have approximately 20 hours per week of quality instruction provided through Cardrona High Performance Centre, and you will also have plenty of spare time to yourself to enjoy the mountains. You will be taught in small groups of up to 8 people per instructor. Not only will you see a vast improvement in your own technique, you will also be given the tools to become an effective teacher and share your expertise with others. Our courses will provide you with an insight into the service side of the industry, how ski and snowboard schools function, plan lessons, and you will also get to shadow instructors. To complement the instruction, a first aid course, backcountry course, and ski/snowboard tuning clinics are also included.

Wanaka - the town
Wanaka is the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park. The town is part of the Queenstown-Lakes District and was originally settled during the gold rush excitement of the 19th century. It is situated at the southern end of Lake Wanaka. It appeals to both adventure lovers and resort-minded travellers. There's loads to do including fishing in the river valleys, hiking in summer and skiing in winter, playing the elevated golf course overlooking Lake Wanaka, and sampling wine from an area vineyard. The town also hosts Warbirds over Wanaka, the largest three-day air show in the Southern Hemisphere. Due to the growing tourism business, the population in Wanaka has grown 50% in 10 years.

Our users say
"The trip as a whole was an amazing experience, and one I would definitely do again if the chance arose! I have made many new friends in the process, where a number of us have already planned to go on a holiday together. The training that was given out in New Zealand was outstanding, and all of the trainers deserve a big thank you for their commitment in making us all ski/snowboard instructors. The location of the course was excellent - so different from the European scenery and way of life. If you love scenery you have to do a 15,000 ft sky dive over Lake Wanaka - it was pure breathtakingly beautiful".
