Training courses start throughout February, March, April and May as well as the end of August.
Join us from Aug/Sept until Oct/Nov this year and get preference on your choice of location and job role, plus receive the 2009 increased returning staff wage if you come back next season (start from Jan onwards)!
Positions can be for 3 - 8 months.
As a Group Leader/ Instructor you will introduce guests to a number of activities and deliver taster sessions including orienteering, archery, fencing, climbing, quadbiking, abseiling, high ropes courses and initiative exercises.
You will also help to organise and participate in our dynamic programme of evening entertainment for our guests, escort them between sessions and take them to mealtimes.
No formal qualifications are required for this position - enthusiasm about working in the outdoors with children is all that we ask for. Experience of working or volunteering with young people will be an advantage to your application, but is not essential.
This role offers the perfect chance for you to begin your career in the outdoors industry and offers the chance to gain valuable instructor awards as you progress.
You’ll need plenty of energy, diplomacy and the ability to relate to young people, as well as the confidence to communicate with adult party leaders (teachers, youth workers etc).
If you join us in this role, you will undertake our extensive training programme with ongoing assessment. This will equip you with the confidence, skills and expertise to do your job.

You must be either a UK/EU citizen or hold a valid UK work permit.

Since I’ve been instructing, I’ve gained National Governing Body qualifications in quad-biking, fencing and rifles, which are two of my favourite activities. I’ve also learnt to lead problem solving, archery, orienteering, low ropes and group leading.
I gain amazing job satisfaction from my role; it’s great to see kids’ confidence increase as they learn to do an activity. I work with different age groups, always learning new skills and adapting sessions.
