Volunteers are involved with entrepreneurship initiatives, a computer literacy programme and teaching.

Entrepreneurship initiatives
Different entrepreneurship initiatives such as arts, crafts and bead workshops have been established in deprived areas. The aim of this project is to create jobs for single mothers in Kaya-Mandi, and foster in them a sense of worth and control of their own destiny. There is also a community produce centre that functions as a co-operative which secures market prices for vegetables and other fresh produce produced by single mothers in the township.

Computer literacy programme
The computer literacy programme is aimed at primary school children, to educate them about computer technology and teach them basic PC skills. This will help them in their education, and vastly improve their job prospects, with the long-term aim of lifting them out of poverty.

Teaching
Volunteers are also regularly needed in various schools in the township. Volunteers are involved in teaching English, various life skills and different sporting activities to the children.

Lifestyle
Volunteer accommodation is in shared apartments in the historic town of Stellenbosch. This wonderful, vibrant town has plenty to do and great entertainment. With 17,000 students, over 80 restaurants and pubs and based in the center of the wine producing area... the recipe is fun, beauty and adventure!

You will gain valuable insight into this unique country, its natural beauty and diverse cultures, while having fun, making new friends and really making a difference... If you are interested, fill in the form below for more information.
