Live and volunteer in the Rajasthan desert area of North West India. Stay in the world's most colourful desert in the land of the Maharajas, along with its magnificent architectural heritage. Be part of an India voluntary work developmental project to help communities prosper, where you will be able to make a valuable contribution to the improvement of the local living conditions in Rajasthan.
Volunteer Role
By working as a volunteer in India, you will give invaluable help to children and adults in deprived parts of the community. By volunteering in Rajasthan, you will receive a very rewarding volunteer experience.
Help Teachers
Education volunteers give much needed support to local teachers. Class sizes in India can be extremely large; so you will help to free up over-worked teachers so they can actually teach these groups rather than just supervising them. Volunteers can teach English and Maths to the children.
Child-care
Volunteers work in local child-care centres also known as Aanganbari. These centres provide day-to-day care for young children and also serve pregnant women. Volunteers ensure maximum attendance by the children of the area as well as giving personal care to the children.Project Location
You will be met at Delhi airport and transferred to a hotel in Delhi to chill out and refresh. The next day after breakfast you’ll take a train to Jaipur where you have a 3-day orientation whilst living with a local Indian family. Then off to Shiv, a small town in the Rajasthan desert where you will be based for the rest of the project.
Accommodation & Meals
The accommodation is unique - a comfortable and clean mud hut! It even comes with an en-suite! All meals are served in the restaurant area - buffet style. There is internet, telephone, DVD/TV facilities. For active volunteers, there is volleyball net and other outdoor games. All meals are included and there are opportunities to buy food and drink in between meals.

We offer hundreds of exciting breaks from 2 weeks to 2 years in over 35 countries, including volunteering, paid work, teaching English, conservation work, adventure travel, sports training and coaching, round the world trips and expeditions. If you want an authentic experience, you’re in the right place.
