Teach English with i-to-i at the Pearl of the Orient, situated off the south east coast of India. Sri Lanka grows from rolling plains at its shoreline to the tea plantations and finally to the hills of Piduruthalagala, where tropical forests flourish with indigenous wildlife. If you want to share your knowledge of all things English while you live and work in a country that offers everything from relaxing beaches, adventurous trekking to inspiring architecture, then look no further than Teaching English in Sri Lanka.
Teachers are needed near Colombo and Kandy on a variety of placements from government schools, orphanages, open prisons, a community centre and a Buddhist monks' academy. The opportunities are endless for you to teach English to adults and children, play games, debate and role play.
There are also sports, drama, music and informal evening lessons, offering a wealth of opportunities to develop your teaching skills. i-to-i TEFL training is included in all teaching projects to ensure you have the skills and the confidence to deliver fun and enjoyable lessons for your students.
“There is still never a day that goes past when I don’t think about the times I had out there. My overall experience far exceeded any expectations; I fell in love with the children at the orphanage, the Sri Lankan people, and the country in general. An experience lately has led me to think about how much I truly appreciate the opportunity i-to-i gave me.”
Kate Farmer, Sri Lanka Teaching Volunteer.
