For applicants from the UK, we have a number of bursary schemes available for volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.

Our bursary scheme and funded placement projects reduce the barrier of cost for young people experiencing financial problems. They are designed to help young people who would not otherwise be able to afford to go.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the improvement of teaching of music in Malawi. This is a placement in one of the few schools in Malawi that has a piano and in this placement the musical talent and skills of a volunteer will be fully utilized.

This placement is in a primary school relatively well resourced and located in an attractive area on the outskirts of Mzuzu in the north of Malawi. This school particularly wants assistance with music and French.

The volunteers’ main task is teaching music throughout the school. Also, there are plenty of opportunities to start different musical activities. The schools will probably ask the volunteer to teach other subjects as well. There is high possibility that the volunteer will be asked to give individual piano lessons. This is a place where being pro-active brings about many opportunities to make a very significant contribution.
