Enhance your CV, enjoy a European lifestyle, gain professional work experience and develop your language skills by working in and around Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin. Placements can be arranged in most industries.Location:
Frankfurt: People in Frankfurt work hard and party hard; no wonder that the European Central Bank houses one of the fanciest clubs in its grand entrance hall.
Munich:
A continuously prospering city with traditional values and attitudes makes Munich one of the most attractive places to visit.
Berlin:
Over 3.5 million people live here, making Berlin the biggest German city in both population and size. An energetic and thriving city with a rich cultural history.
What's included:
Through participation on the programme, you will receive a professional internship in your chosen industry. A minimum 4-week language course is required before commencing your internship.
Please indicate on the application form, the industry in which you would like to work and the type of position you are looking for. In advance of your language course, we will start a preliminary search for a suitable placement, then on arrival in Germany you will receive an interview with the local placement officer who will fine tune and focus the search for the ideal placement. During your language course, you will attend various interviews until the appropriate internship is found.
Professional Internship:
Requests for placements in all industries will be considered
Final placements will be dependant on the applicants previous experience and language ability and subject to interview
Placements are generally unpaid, although your employer may chose to offer a stipend
Usually 35 hours per week Monday to Friday (some weekend shifts depending on the industry)
Accommodation can be arranged upon request (please see below for full details)
Airport transfer on arrival (optional)
Certification of attendance and letters of reference
Language courses available:
Allowing you to concentrate on your German studies before you start your internship. Courses start on a Monday and finish on Friday with the option of taking as many weeks as you wish. (4 weeks minimum) Courses available are as follows: (1 lesson = 45 mins)
Standard 20 lessons: 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. or 2.45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Intensive 24 lessons 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Premium 28 lessons: 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Accommodation & Food:
Accommodation and food can be arranged for all participants. There are various options depending on the level of independence your require:
Living with a host family is a great way to truly understand the German way of life. Choose between B&B or half board options.
Alternatively, you may choose to take a private room in a shared flat. This is a self catering option with shared facilities.
Dates & Duration:
The programme operates all year round
Minimum 4 week language course before commencing your internship
Minimum 12 week internship placement
You may book as much or as little accommodation as you require.
Flights & Transportation:
International flights are not included
An arrival transfer from the airport to your accommodation is available on request
Participants should budget for local transportation
Safety & Insurance: All of Twins work internship programmes are in partnership with registered agents and or employers, giving you the confidence to work with reputable organisations.
Comprehensive insurance is available for each of the work placements.
Our local partner provides 24-hour support.
Eligibility & Skills:
Placements are available for participants aged between 18 yrs +
Participants must be citizens of the European Union, United States of America, Switzerland, Japan or Australia
Intermediate German is required for all internships you are requested to complete a language test during the application process and may be contacted by telephone for a language test. Please see our website to download the language test. www.workandvolunteer.com
Visas & Documentation:
Please provide a CV (written in German) and complete the language test provided.
Please provide a Motivation Letter written in German, which can be presented to potential employers and host families.
3 passport-sized photographs are also required.
