Our business experience programmes in China are designed to give you practical work experience and enhance your CV. They are for people who would like to make their break count, not just by contributing professional skills, but also for their own career and skills development.

Shanghai is China’s economic capital and one of the World's fastest-growing city-based economies; a 21st Century metropolis where all the World's major businesses, and many up-and-coming local businesses, can be found. Shanghai's new finance and enterprise zone, Pudong, has expanded massively in the last five years. A great deal of foreign direct investment has changed this area from farm or wasteland to an area with a huge array of different companies, bringing dynamism and an international outlook that really sets the city apart.

In Shanghai we organise work experience programmes in a number of sectors. These include areas such as marketing, finance, architecture, interior design and property development. Other areas may be possible - just ask. Because of the career-related aspects of our business placements, each programme is designed to suit each individual volunteer. Your qualifications, previous work experience, as well as aspirations and personal preferences, are directly relevant. You will be assigned a supervisor who will be able to advise and support you during your placement, and of course the staff at our Projects Abroad China office are always on hand too.

Shanghai is a city like no other, and having experienced Chinese culture in this awesome and buzzing metropolis, you can spend weekends and free time experiencing more of China, from the peaceful lake of Hangzhou to the unforgettable sight of the Great Wall.
