Changing Worlds offers a range of voluntary placements in urban and rural settings in southern India.

India is one of the most fascinating and beautiful countries you can visit during your gap year. Its vibrant scenery and culture are legendary, but so is its poverty. This is your opportunity to experience both sides of India - and to help some of the poorest communities in the World.

Our Conservation project in India is in beautiful Kodaikkanal, There are various branches in the project, from planting and caring for indigenous trees, to replace the imported eucalypts, Encouraging the local people to build and use sustainable toilets, and helping with bee projects for small farms.

It is very much a project where our volunteers need to plan and define their interests so they can work productively alongside the local project managers.

You will live in a cottage on site and are welcomed by the local villagers and workers.

Changing worlds also has projects in Orphanages and schools around Chennai and in Bangalore
