There are few treks that combine natural beauty, history and mystery, with such an awe-inspiring final destination as the world-famous 42km long Inca Trail. The various Inca ruins along the way will serve to heighten your sense of anticipation as you approach the breathtaking Lost City of Machu Picchu.
Day 1 to 1 Arrive Cuzco Private arrival transfer in Cuzco with a driver speaking the local language or make your own way to the hotel. A pre-trek briefing will be held by your guide in the early evening.
Day 2 to 4 Inca Trail Travel to the beginning of the Inca Trail with an English speaking guide and porters/cooks speaking the local language. Trek into the Andes via high passes and fascinating ruins with stops for explanations of the natural and cultural history of the Inca Trail (pooled service). (3B, 3L, 3D)
Day 5 to 5 Machu Picchu Early start to trek to Sun Gate for a view over Machu Picchu at first light (weather permitting). Guided tour of the ruins, followed by free time to explore then return to Cuzco by buses and economy train (pooled service). (B)
Day 6 to 6 Depart Cuzco Private departure transfer with a driver speaking the local language or end of services. (B)
