The colourful new and fascinating old of Delhi welcomes us to India. Next we the Pink City of Jaipur and a stately elephant ride brings us to the Amber Fort. Lose yourself in the pulsating bazaars and stock up on Rajasthani souvenirs in Jaipur’s markets. Discover rural India in the village of Perharsar with a visit to a local school. Complete India’s Golden Triangle watching sunset over the magnificent Taj Mahal. Explore the Bundela temples and palaces of Orchha and the artistically carved temples of Khajuraho. A short flight brings us to one of the holiest cities in the whole of India – the legendary Varanasi. Witness the daily ritual cleansing that takes place in the riverside ghats with a sunrise boat ride along the River Ganges. We head northeast to the remote hill station of Kalimpong set amid beautiful mountain scenery. In Gangtok we learn about Tibetan culture with visits to important monasteries and museums. Relax with a perfect cup of tea in Darjeeling with the peaks of the Himalayas as your backdrop. Our journey ends in the vibrant city of Kolkata.
Experience the best of the local sights with a horse-drawn cart ride to the Taj Mahal and a rickshaw bike ride in the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. We stay in 3-4* hotels with some nights spent in heritage hotels where you can sample traditional architecture. We also provide the services of specialist guides at the sites we visit.
