RIDE ON Whistler provides season accommodation and back-country training courses in Whistler, Canada. We help you get your season sorted out, offering our seasonaires everything from lift passes to job hunting advice, from village orientations to social events throughout the winter.
Most people only do a ski season once: we make life in Whistler easier for you so you can spend more time skiing, snowboarding and exploring the backcountry!
Back-Country Intro Course
Thanks to Whistler Blackcomb's lift network, our mountains boast some of B.C.'s most accessible back-country terrain... it's the perfect place to try out ski-touring or split-boarding, taking your powder riding to whole new level!
The Intro to Back-country course will give you the skills & knowledge you need to safely explore and understand the terrain you are in: Whether you just want to head into the back-country for day-trips, or are more adventurous and want to plan some overnight trips (or just be prepared incase a day-trip goes wrong & you're sleeping in the snow), we seriously recommend taking this course!
What's included
The course includes 6-days of training, spread out over 2-weeks to allow for weather conditions, and to give you a bit of time to rest-up and practice between trips. It is open to anyone with a good level of fitness, strong intermediate riding/skiing skills (can get down black runs & happy in the powder!) and a sense of adventure - men and women, skiers and snowboarders are all equally welcome!
