Based in a beautiful 10 hectare reserve in Bloemfontein, the project cares for abandoned and rescued big cat cubs, and injured animals that need rehabilitation. The project aims to expand so that it can care for even more animals and to eventually release as many animals as possible back into the wild.

Your typical working day will start at 8.30am and end at 5pm, starting with a daily meeting where your tasks for the day will be allocated. You’ll need to be hands-on and proactive during your time at the project as there will be no ‘boss’ telling you what to do.

Activities will be many and varied and may include: feeding all the animals on a daily basis, helping to hand-rear young cubs across the cat species, getting involved with important research, updating the blog, taking visitors on tours, and occasionally helping to nurse sick animals back to health. Be prepared to handle meat when preparing food for the cats; it’s not for the faint-hearted but it's part of the experience!
