Facilities are pretty limited, though they’re improving slowly: the best are found in the western Caucasus, around Dombay. The country also has a number of more out-of-the-way resorts. Prices vary considerably, but certainly won’t break the bank. These mountains have some good skiing and riding, loads of rail slides... and some ancient drag lifts. A recommended resort is Jasra in the Low Tatras. The mountains of Rila, Pirin, the Rhodopes, Vitosha, and the Balkan Range offer some good slopes free of crowds, with some fun, unpredictable terrain.
