Languages in Belize
The official language of Belize is English however Spanish is also spoken by over half the population. Other languages spoken are Garifuna (Carib), Maya and Creole as well as a German dialect (by the Mennonites).
The International Country Code for Belize is 501 and mobile phone coverage is good along most of the coast of the country and along the main routes to Mexico and Guatemala. Internet cafes can be found in popular tourist and urban centres with generally reliable connections and the larger urban cities offer wireless.
Post office hours are: Mon-Fri 0800/0830-1200 and 1300-1630 with a few open on Saturdays.
