Weather in Belize
The climate in Belize is subtropical with a brisk prevailing wind from the Caribbean Sea. It is generally very hot and humid with high annual temperatures. The rainy season is from mid-May until November and the dry season is from January to April. The hurricane season is from June to the end of November which usually brings coastal flooding particularly in the South. Average temperatures for the country range from 27°C along the coast to 21°C in the hills. May is the hottest month and January is the coldest month.
Recommended clothing for travel to Belize is lightweight cottons and linens. A light waterproof jacket is recommended for the rainy season and long sleeved shirts and pants are essential for protection against mosquitoes.
