Travel Tips for Cambodia
First and foremost, don’t go off the beaten track in Cambodia. Whilst a lot of landmines have been cleared up, there are still up to 6 million live mines dotted across the countryside, so stick to the beaten track!
While tourism has been great for Cambodia, and in growing is providing benefits for the Khmer, it is important to remember that there is a very corrupt side to Cambodia. There is a sex trade, human exploitation and casino culture that if supported by tourism will continue to become worse.
Be careful with your belongings, particularly in Phnom Penh. Be discrete with purses and cameras as even children are known to be thieves in these parts.
