We're looking for competent, good conversational level French-speakers for this diverse role. Your main duty is to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service throughout their stay. You will act as the liaison between your group's teaching staff and the centre-based staff.
Primarily, you'll be responsible for accompanying guests on excursions, ensuring itineraries run to plan, assisting coach drivers with route finding, serving evening meals and delivering a programme of evening activities for your group.
You will mix your time between leading excursions and working in hospitality roles at the Château, including the general hygiene and upkeep of accommodation and facilities to ensure accommodation is ready for guests when they arrive.
The centre operates an extensive World War I educational tours programme, giving you the opportunity to increase your historical knowledge of this interesting area.
Staff working at Château d'Ebblinghem, whilst being employed by PGL, will deliver NST products and wear the NST uniform. NST is PGL's sister company, providing educational tours to school groups.
Duties

Leading group welcome talks

Close liaison with party leaders throughout their stay

Co-ordinating between groups and department heads

Meeting the group on arrival and conducting welcome briefings with the teachers/students

Acting as a tour guide on excursions, passing on local historical and cultural knowledge and pointing out areas of interest, offering translation, liaising with reps at destinations

Organising and delivering a programme of evening activities for your group

Preparing client accommodation, ensuring high standards prior to the arrival of your group. This includes making beds and general cleaning duties

Serving evening meals and assisting with associated dining room duties

Night duty on a rota basis

Assisting, when necessary, with other departments on centre (catering/ housekeeping/ maintenance)

Respecting and adhering to company guidelines regarding the supervision of guests
Training
We offer comprehensive training for this job role, including about the excursion destinations, evening entertainments, customer service, health and safety, risk assessments, soft skills and group dynamics.
You are also eligible to apply for a place on one of our NVQ programmes. This provides an industry-leading package of training, support and qualifications, enabling people to join PGL at a range of experience levels and will equip you with the skills and confidence to perform your role. There are no age restrictions on our apprenticeship programme.
Staff Package

You will be provided with several t-shirts and a waterproof jacket as part of your uniform. You will need to provide your own black trousers and pair of black shoes, which can be brought prior to arrival on centre and will be reimbursed up to the value of £50 once on centre.
Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure, which PGL will pay for.
