The volunteer element of your trip will be focused on protecting female turtles and their eggs from illegal poachers. This is achieved by relocating the nests to a safe hatchery and keeping an eye on them until little turtles come out safely, the tiny creatures will then be released into the ocean to boost the declining populations of the Olive Ridley sea turtle.

You will work 6 days a week with one day off to set off and explore as you choose. Your days will be a mixture of surfing lessons, supervised practice and conservation. You will receive a 1 hour formal lesson each week but will need to practice for an hour every day to become a real pro on the waves, a great opportunity for new surfers to get the hang of things!

Conservation work will include night beach patrolling for 4 hours at either 11pm or 3am, gathering important research, preparing turtle hatcheries, helping with beach cleaning, camp maintenance and hatchery duty. Plus if you feel like flexing your muscles you can assist with manual labour from building hatcheries to construction work at the camp.
