Teaching English to Buddhist monks in our host Monasteries is a truly once in a lifetime experience. Placements in Fiji are primarily Teaching placements, but due to the close-knit nature of Fijian society, there is often an important community aspect too. On top of their core teaching duties, volunteers may find that they also work with children in the evenings – helping with English as well as extracurricular activities such as arts and crafts.
