Also, if you want first-hand experience of real South American culture and if you have initiative. You can also learn Spanish while you're there. No qualifications or previous experience are necessary, just a good dose of enthusiasm!>

When you're on your placement, if you'd like to extend your time, you can do so at a cost of £75 per additional week.

Few projects offer such a culturally rich experience. Volunteers become immersed in the traditional Fijian way of life while contributing to the local community. It will suit applicants who are proactive, outgoing and willing to think outside the box, as resources can be in short supply.

Requirements:

You must have some medical experience or currently be training in the medical sector. You will be required to send a copy of your CV and a letter of motivation explaining why you want to take part in this placement and what you hope to gain from it

Cost details:

Costs vary depending on how long you want to stay for. Prices start from £995 for 2 weeks and include food and accommodation, 24/7 support and backup before you go and throughout your placement, as well as meeting you at the nearest airport. When you're on your placement, if you'd like to extend your time, you can do so at a minimal additional cost.

Some one with a can-do attitude who is willing to make the most of their placement and above all enjoy it, who enjoys teaching English as a foreign lanaguage, who is sensitive to the predicament of under privileged children, interested in poverty and development issues and interested in music and culture of Latin America.

Cost details:

Those on teaching placements take a one-week Teaching Skills Course before departure which is in London for 5 days and the cost is included in the fee. Volunteers also have the option of a one-week Portuguese course in Brazil.
