Be a Schools Assistant in Oz

Be a Schools Assistant in Oz
Duration: from 7.00 Months to 12.00 Months
Countries: Australia
Lattitude Schools Assistants in Australia provide classroom help to day and boarding schools, and have the choice between traditional and indigenous teaching placements. In both kinds of placements you will have a wide range of duties, from helping with one-on-one tutoring and supervising students in the boarding house, to leading extracurricular activities, such as sports and music clubs. The main difference between our traditional and indigenous placements is that in the latter many students will not be native English speakers. This means that you will have to adapt your approach to non-native speakers and place extra emphasis on improving students' literacy skills. Both of these types of placement are an excellent opportunity for you to gain valuable teaching experience while getting to know your students and soaking up the contagiously up-beat Aussie spirit. All applicants are matched to placements to ensure that there is a good fit between the volunteer and their host school. So whether you are sporty, musical or adventurous we'll find the place for you!
