Beneath Thailand's vibrant modern exterior lies a country steeped in culture, history and ancient traditions, and this tour will take you right to the heart of it. You will begin your journey in Thailand's vibrant capital, Bangkok, where modern luxuries take on an intriguing eastern twist. From here you will travel to Ayutthaya, Lopburi and Kanchanaburi, famed for their ancient temples, religious shrines and floating markets. These three towns will give you a unique insight into the country's past and certainly shouldn't be missed. Finally the tour will bring you to Koh Tao, a beautiful tropical island off the Thai coast. Whether you want to relax or the beach or have a go at scuba diving in the crystal clear waters, this is the place to do it!

Why the project needs volunteers:

The opportunity to see this part of South East Asia, its wildlife, people and natural wonders is an opportunity not to be missed. The added benefit to this tour is that not only do you have the trip of a lifetime but your tour allows you and the group to interact with and brighten the day of Thai orphans. You will also gain an insight into the issues of HIV/AIDS in Thailand whilst helping the patients at the hospice.

Your role as a volunteer:

Your main role for volunteering will be to assist the staff in the orphanage and hospice within Thailand. The rest of the tour is a chance to experience South East Asia, see its wildlife and people and take in the tourist attractions along the way.

Where the project is based:

The tour covers a 14 day round trip from Bangkok up to the ancient capital of Ayuthaya and the Kanchanaburi province, before heading south to Hua Hin and the island of Koh Tao and then back up to Bangkok.
