The floating reed island of Amantani on Lake Titicaca is home to the families you'll be staying with on this water-bound paradise. Lake Titicaca is the world’s highest navigable lake and one of South America’s most sacred places. Legend has it the Inca sun god’s children rose from this lake to found Cusco and the Inca dynasty.

LEARN Weeks 1-2
Fly to modern-day Cusco, where you will live with a Peruvian family who will teach you about their culture, and give you the opportunity to practice your Spanish. Your afternoons and evenings will be free to explore the historic town, with Spanish lessons taking place during the morning, in a small, informal group setting. At the same school where you are learning your Spanish, the local children are learning English, providing the two groups with a mutually beneficial opportunity: they will show you around their town, while both of you improve your language skills. but save some energy for the weekend, when you will be white water rafting, mountain biking or having a dip in natural hot springs.
VOLUNTEER Weeks 3-5
This venture gives you the opportunity to be part of a community development project in the high Andes. Join the Quechua people in their ongoing fight to conserve the rare indigenous polylepis tree. Get involved with a reforestation scheme or help to build a community centre for the village. You’ll be working directly with local people on small-scale, practical-outcome projects that give you the chance to put your new Spanish skills into practice as you make a measurable difference to the community you’ve learnt from.
EXPLORE Weeks 6-7
Enjoy a free weekend in Cusco. trek through the stunning Andean landscapes to the magical lost city of Machu Picchu, keeping an eye out for the endangered Condor. Next, you'll sail across Lake Titicaca into Bolivia and experience life on the ancient floating reed-islands where the modern people of Lake Titicaca still live. You'll round off your trip with a visit to the highest capital city in the world, La Paz, where amongst other activities, you can explore a voodoo market.
This is an all-inclusive trip with full support and a range of services provided before during and after the Venture. You will be accompanied by VentureCo guides throughout the whole journey as well as in country project and activity co-ordinators.

Funding for our development projects comes directly from the VentureCo Trust. For each person that joins a Venture, we as a company, donate a set amount to the Trust. 100% of the money the Trust receives is spent on projects. To date, the Trust has funded 63 development projects around the world.
