Volunteer at a children’s centre in the Bombolulu region of Mombasa and help provide education to vulnerable children.

The education centres GVI works with provide free or affordable education to children who are orphaned or whose families have little or no income. You will get involved in helping to improve literacy and numeracy levels among children, as well as providing lessons in environmental and social awareness.

The children’s centres also encourage social development through art, music, drama and sports programs that help combat social pressures that lead to substance abuse and crime. You will therefore have the opportunity plan and deliver creative workshops, so bring along plenty of ideas!

This project delivers opportunities to children from disrupted homes where illiteracy, crime, poverty, prostitution, drug/alcohol abuse and HIV are commonplace, so volunteer help really is valued.

You will live in shared accommodation with a team of volunteers, and weekends will be free for you to explore Mombasa and its beautiful beaches, or even come face to face with the Big Five on safari!
