Become part of the good work at well-respected elephant foundation in Ta Klang village in Tha Toom district of Surin. The project is working to encourage mahouts (elephant carers) to return to the countryside with their elephants rather than seeking a living in the cities.

With over 80 elephants to care for you’ll certainly have your hands full! You’ll be working Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, and will generally help out with showering and scrubbing the elephants, planting and watering elephant food, cleaning the elephant compounds and learning how to work safely with these majestic animals. There will also be the opportunity to teach the mahouts some English, improving their employment and wage prospects.
