Our Projects Abroad Animal Care placement offers volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare the opportunity to make a difference in South Africa. Volunteers will work alongside local staff on projects in and around Cape Town. You can choose between working at a domestic animal centre or a seabird rehabilitation centre.

Work at South Africa's first primate rehabilitation centre giving abused monkeys and baboons a second chance at life in the wild. Volunteer hands-on, from feeding baby monkeys to observing and helping with operations!

Help to care for, rehabilitate and release injured, abused and orphaned Monkeys back into the wild to live a free and natural life. Those that can never be released are given a permanent home in a cared-for, safe environment. You'll work with a Foundation dedicated to caring for animals that have nowhere else to go. Some are orphans because their parents were killed by hunters, others were rescued from animal dealers, and others were rescued from people who kept them in small cages!

If you’re a wildlife enthusiast who likes to surf, this is the project for you. You’ll help with hand feeding young animals, preparing food for the animals, general upkeep of the park enclosures and monitoring game on the reserve, with amazing beaches just a few miles away.
