Teaching

 ILA Vietnam

Teaching in Vietnam is a highly rewarding experience. Teachers in Vietnam are treated with the utmost respect by both students and parents. Students are enthusiastic, keen to learn, and relish the opportunity to take advantage of a fun, creative, and professional learning environment. Both adults and children are willing and cooperative participants in class, eager to make the most of their learning experience.
ILA provides teachers with a highly competitive financial and benefits package which will ensure that you have money to enjoy the lifestyle, travel and even save!
In order to teach at ILA you will need a CELTA qualification [or equivalent]. If you already have such a qualification, you can apply to teach at ILA by clicking the “email us” button below.

CELTA

If you do not already have a teaching certification you can obtain the qualification by completing the Cambridge CELTA Course at ILA.
The Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is an intensive, full-time, four week programme run in our largest training centre in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).
The CELTA is the most widely recognised English Language Teaching qualification in the world. We offer full support in a functional, world-class learning environment equipped with the very latest teaching resources.
The cost of the completing the CELTA course at ILA is $1500. Those who are accepted for the course 45 days before the start date will qualify for a $100 discount.
If you successfully complete the course, you will be considered for a teaching position, by undergoing a standard interview procedure with one of our Recruitment Executives.  If you sign a 1 year teaching contract with ILA, you will receive a start up allowance of $750 within the first month to help you get settled in your new life.

Volunteering

Beyond teaching, you will be able to make a difference in the Vietnamese community by being involved with ILA’s charitable wing, the ILA Community Network [ILACN]. You will be given the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of settings and locations. Currently, the ILACN is involved with five local organisations: the Green Bamboo Shelter, Go Vap Orphanage, HCMC Ung Buou Cancer Hospital, the Little Rose Warm Shelter and Operation Smile Vietnam.

The ILACN offer teachers a number of different ways in which they can get involved. The options range from teaching English, sports and arts and crafts projects, caring for babies and children with disabilities, facilitating outings, fundraising and writing to mention just a few

Vietnam

Vietnam is an amazing country to choose for travelling, living, and experiencing another culture. We are offering placements in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), which has an extensive expatriate community, is colourful, and has busy markets set alongside beautiful colonial buildings. Cheap, delicious local food is on every corner, while the extensive array of shopping plazas, cinemas, restaurants, and bars is truly amazing.

Furthermore, travel throughout Vietnam is cheap and easy from HCMC. Vietnam has an extensive coastline which means the beach is never far away and opportunities for diving, surfing and other beach activities are extensive. Vietnam is also home to two World heritage sights, as well as the central highlands which are famous for a cool mountainous climate, numerous minority groups, and spectacular waterfalls.
