Volunteer for jungle conservation in your first week in mainland Malaysia before venturing to the Perhentian Islands for two weeks of sea turtle conservation volunteer work! Volunteers will work for one week to deter poachers in the jungle near the Taman Negara border and track indigenous species such as the highly endangered Malay tiger. Volunteers will also get to explore limestone caves and engage in cultural exchange with the indigenous Batek tribe.
Weeks 2 and 3 of this program involve sea turtle conservation in the Perhentian Islands. Specific conservation tasks include photo identification research and guarding nests during hatching season.
This program is incredibly unique, offering three different experiences in three weeks. Volunteers on this program will engage in jungle conservation, cultural exchange with an indigenous tribe and get to conserve sea turtles in the tropical Perhentian Islands!
