A Gap Year in Madagascar

Why go backpacking in Madagascar?

Situated off the east coast of Africa, most people don’t realise that Madagascar is its own country. However, not only is Madagascar its own country but they’re incredibly proud of the fact! Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world and it is home to a veritible bevy of life; 5% of all known animal and plant species can be found here. That means there are loads of opportunities to volunteer with animals or work on a conservation project.

If you’re looking for a place to kick back and relax, to explore all the different flora and fauna, and to get a unique culture experience, then you can’t go wrong with Madagascar on your gap year.
