Learn To Speak the Local Lingo

Saunders and Ollie, who are currently vlogging their way around Southeast Asia, are back with a new video: in this one they teach us how to say some basic Thai phrases.

It’s a great idea to learn a bit of the local lingo of any country you visit. Even if you just learn how to say ‘hello’, ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, this will go a long way in earning you the respect of the locals.

Thai is significantly harder to learn than, say, German, but no one’s expecting you to be fluent – just a few phrases will suffice.

Most Thai people in touristy areas – like Bangkok, where this video was recorded – will be able to speak English, so there’s no need to worry if you forget any of this!

However, if you do want to learn how to say some basic Thai phrases, just check out the video above. Practise by yourself, then play the video back and see if you’ve nailed it.

Good luck!
