It’s no secret that Australia has some stupendously epic nightlife – they certainly know how to party Down Under. One of the best places in the country to let your hair down is the city of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, Queensland. This pleasure town is famed for having one of the best nightlife scenes in Australia, with super slick bars and clubs on seemingly every corner.
So when you’ve finished surfing and sunbathing for the day and washed all that lovely golden sand from your various body parts, be sure to check out some of the places covered in this guide!
Located within the iconic Surfers Paradise Tavern, the Beergarden is the undisputed best live music venue in the city, and a great way to kick off your night. Having recently undergone a multi-million dollar refurbishment, this venue features a massive balcony with views across the sea, and is as popular with locals as it is with travellers.
Something of a hidden gem, Stingray is mostly frequented by locals in the know, and you should definitely check it out. It’s designed to be a bit of a throwback to the Surfers Paradise of days gone by, with retro pop art and decorations throughout. You can get decent food here but the bar is most well-known for its awesome variety of affordable cocktails.
Picking up the pace a bit now, make Titanium Bar your next stop. This is a seriously sleek bar but with normal prices, and sometimes a small entry charge, depending on what time you get there. The bar is spacious, with plenty of cool furnishings to relax on, and also a small dance floor. If you send them an email the night before you’ll be put on the guest list, which means $5 drinks all night!
Very cool. This is the perfect place to move your night up into the next gear. Frequently hosting celebrity DJs, SinCity is the newest and freshest club in the city, and guarantees a ridiculously energetic experience. Unless you get yourself onto the guest list, be prepared to queue, but it is worth it as this club is great.
If you still have energy, Vanity Nightclub awaits. This is one of the best clubs in Australia – probably the best on the Gold Coast – and as soon as you step inside you’ll see why. The décor is ultra stylish and the sound system will rattle your bones. The club somehow manages to combine the total madness of a super club with refined sophistication at the same time.
