Dracula’s Castle is becoming a hotel this Halloween – with coffins for beds

Why does Dracula have no friends? Because he’s a pain in the neck.

Still, he’ll have some companions soon. Bran Castle in Transylvania – the inspiration for Count Dracula’s spooky home in Bram Stoker’s classic novel – is opening its doors to two guests this Halloween, the first time anybody will have slept there for nearly 70 years.

Stay in Dracula's Castle with Airbnb

It’s a promotion by Airbnb, which will see two competition winners treated to a candlelit feast inside the castle before retiring to sleep in a pair of coffins.

(There’ll be beds available too… though being sealed inside a coffin might be safer).

You can enter the contest here by telling them what you’d say to Count Dracula if you met him, which means running away while screaming is not an option.

If you win, you’ll be flown to Romania and taken deep into the Carpathian Mountains, where you definitely won’t die in the castle. You’d be a sucker not to enter.
