Fancy zip lining down the Eiffel Tower?

8th Jun 2017

Paris is known for many things: fine dining, high fashion, iconic architecture, and more. It’s not known as the home of butt-clenching extreme activities.

That could be about to change, as visitors to the world-famous Eiffel Tower now have the option to zip line off it.

The ride kicks off from the Eiffel Tower’s second floor, around 115 metres off the ground, and sends riders hurtling at 90km/h onto a platform in the Champs de Mars Park below.

Unfortunately it’s only a temporary installation in partnership with Perrier to promote the French Open tennis tournament. Rides are only available until June 11 – book ahead to secure your place, as they’re limited to 100 per day.

If you’d rather keep your feet firmly on the ground, there’s also a virtual reality version of the ride you can try instead.
