Move over exercise and shopping! A new survey says travel is the best
It probably seems like we’re stating the obvious here, but it’s nice to have a little bit of research to back up our love of travel.
Last week Priceline.com published their ‘Traveler’s Sweet Spot’ survey, with more than half of its 1,005 respondents saying that travel boosts their mood more than shopping or exercise.
The survey focused on holidays rather than long term travel, showing that four out of five Americans would rather take multiple short getaways throughout the year than one long trip. 44% of Americans think being able to take three or four trips a year would make them happier.
Unfortunately it’s the cost of travel that is keeping many from travelling as much as they’d like.
We think it’s safe to assume that the mood benefits also apply to longer backpacking trips.
Here at Gapyear.com we believe in travelling as much as you can, and this survey backs us up. So what are you waiting for?
