John F. Kennedy International Airport, which services New York City, is opening a new $65-million terminal just for travelling pets.

Known as The ARK, the first stages of the animal terminal opened this week. The Pet Oasis has facilities to microchip pets, help get them boarded along with appropriate food and water, and educate owners on flight requirements.

The Pet Oasis is only the tip of the iceberg for The ARK. When completed the facility will feature a 20,000 square foot luxury spa where pets will have access to swimming pools, massage therapy, grooming, and manicures.

Pets staying overnight will have big beds, TVs, and a link to their owner via webcam.

Basically, travelling pets will have it better than travelling humans.
