The ultimate pub crawl
Adventurers complete 370km pub crawl
I’m sure we’ve all been on some epic pub crawls (the Harbourne Run in Birmingham and Campus 14 in Nottingham spring to mind), but this is on another level.
A couple of Aussie adventurers have completed a heroic pub crawl spanning 370kms over the Northern Territory in Australia, travelling by helicopter.
Adventurers Cas and Jonesy, known for their daring feats including crossing the Tasman sea and trekking Antarctica, hoped to make it to 10 iconic establishments across the far regions of the Top End during their “ultimate pub tour”.
The explorers were whisked across Darwin, Kakadu, and Katherine in a helicopter during the journey, which lasted under five hours.
Exhausted and elated, they made it to the finish line having missed just one – the Crab Claw Inn in Darwin.
The duo said it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“Taking to the skies on a helicopter and seeing the amazing scenery and dramatic landscapes was awe inspiring,” Justin ‘Jonesy’ Jones said.
“I can’t think of a better way to explore Australia than on a tour like ours. A mix of adventure and a yarn or two with the locals – you truly get the best of both worlds.”
The outback locations visited included the iconic Humpty Doo Hotel, Bark Hut Inn, Litchfield Hotel and the Adelaide River Inn, where Charlie the buffalo, star of Crocodile Dundee, resides on the bar.
Visiting the serene Lake Bennett Resort, Point Stuart and Wildman Wilderness Lodges, the duo capped off the day with an underwater experience at the Darwin SKYCITY Casino swim-up bar.
