Let’s all pack our bags for Hawaii!
Every decent backpacking adventure features an island or two. These isolated portions of paradise make us truly feel like we’ve got away from the rigours of the real world.
Now Trip Advisor has named the best islands in the world, and Hawaii’s Maui has come out on top, narrowly beating off competition from the Greek Island of Santorini and Jamaica.
The top five is rounded out by Providenciales, of the Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean (the home of Grace Bay, which Trip Advisor recently named the best beach in the world), and Bali, Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom’s very own Jersey ranked ninth in the European top ten. Sadly, the Isle of Sheppey is nowhere to be seen.
Get your bucket list ready, here’s the full list:
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
