Canada – TrekAmerica tours or is there a cheaper option?

So, TrekAmerica do some canadian tours, starting in seattle. Was wondering if anyone had done one of these and what they thought of them?
They look quite expensive, and Canada is going to be my last country on my RTW so thinking I may be a bit strapped for cash by this point. Any other ideas of getting to see Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise, Vancouver, Whistler and Seattle on a cheap budget?

Sorry this seems to have rambled quite considerably! Any advice would be much appreciated 🙂

Tours are always going to be more pricey than doing things independently. I haven’t travelled much through the USA or Canada but the train and bus systems must be pretty comprehensive so why not research doing it all yourself? You’ll still meet plenty of people and the only language issue may be French but English is pretty widely spoken in the French provinces anyway.

That was my original plan, but I was thinking that I might not get to meet as many people doing the public transport way…have to think about it!!
And thanks for reminding me about the french barriers, forgot about that! Better brush up soon

I used the Moose Travel Network over there; they are quite well-priced hop-on hop-off tours, so you have the flexibility to stick to your own itinerary, but you travel in groups when on the buses so you’ll meet a ton of people.

Alternatively, just use greyhound and hope to meet up with people in hostels – that’s by far the cheapest way.
