Hiya,
I am going out to Haiti to volunteer with a charity called European Disaster Volunteers in July and am having trouble finding an insurance company that will provide a comprehensive policy that will cover Haiti because the Home Office currently has a warning against travel to the country.
I would be forever in debt to anyone who is able to provide advice or suggestions of a company who is able to do so.
Many many thanks in advance!
Regards
Dorothy
Maybe the organisation could provide with some names of insurance companies they or their previous volunteers have used ?
I don’t know but I would think an organisation who usually operates in crisis areas would have some knowledge of this?
Campbell Irvine insurance is what I recommend to my clients who go ‘off the beaten track’ and for unusual/ ‘dangerous’ places.
Give them a call and see if they’ll cover you.
Thank you for the tip!!!
Will certainly do so 🙂
Problem is that travelling from the UK, there arent very many people out there from the UK, therefor the FCO advice will not affect travel insurance companies operating in the states.
Or at least, that’s what Iv been advised and assumed. Will get back in touch with them to find out.
