Saving up is hard but you have to remember that it’s worth it in the long run. The more money you save, the better.

Don’t think about the pending unemployment when you return. At all. Ever.

Sorry I couldn’t resist, for anyone who hasn’t seen the film that won’t make much sense!!

My honest answer is see/meet as many new places/people as possible and enjoy it as the best time you will have - its going to be much better than working 9-5 every week when your back in the ‘real world’!

Regret the things you did, not the ones you didn’t do.

Yeah, Fight Club is awesome.

I was hoping someone would say what the first rule was, then someone would say what the second rule was, etc.

I was trying to be breezy. Maybe I should have been more specific!

Anyone want to collect what we’ve got so far, count what we’re up to and keep it moving?

Remember if this is your first night at Gap Club, you have to, er, gap.

I reckon we’ve had about 9, so…

The tenth rule of taking a gap year is, you’re never too old to take a gap year.

The eleventh rule of taking a gap year is, it can last a lot longer than a year!

Always steal nice toilet roll if you see it loafing in a restaurant bog.

Try not to wank in dorms

always strive to leave your comfort zone! A little personal growth never hurt anyone ( rolleyes  shame on anyone who says something about tumors!)

remember that if you’re having a down day on the road, it’s okay to spend a little extra and comfort yourself! Sometimes that extra little chocolate is all you need to feel back to your regular self!

I think we’re onto 17?

Ok, the 17th rule of taking a gap year is: If you’re feeling homesick, really try and stick it for a while before you decide to cancel/amend your whole trip. You might ffeel pretty bad, but you’ll probably get over it.

The 18th rule is, obviously, become a member of gapyear.com.
