Visas for Bhutan

Countries  »  Bhutan  »  Visas

Bhutan prides itself on being a secluded area of the world, and in order to preserve this, travellers can only enter the country via a tour operator who will submit an application for a visa. People wishing to travel to Bhutan must organise a tour through a travel company, which can be a group tour or a private one. The visa will usually begin from the day of the tour until the end date – so it’s important to book your flights in accordance with the tour operator’s itinerary. There are currently no railways in Bhutan, so the best means of travel are domestic flights or by car, but of course as you have to go with a tour company then this will be sorted for you, so no need to worry about that too much.
