Gap Years and Backpacking in Portugal

Countries  »  Portugal

Portugal shares the Iberian Peninsula with neighbouring Spain and is a richly cultured country with stunning beaches; a truly vibrant travel destination. It was once among the poorest countries in Western Europe, but has quickly grown in financial status since the 70s to become strong and stable.

The Algarve region in the south, lies on the Atlantic coastline and is one of the most popular with travellers. The cheap cost of accommodation, coupled with tourist friendly lifestyle, beautiful blue skies and stunning beaches, make it a great destination for backpackers and gap year travellers alike.

Take your camera if you're travelling to Portugal. Photographically speaking, the light here is stunning, so taking great photos is easy!
