What does a fitness instructor do at camp?
Health and fitness is more important than ever and to many camps this is a new and exciting activity which is highly sought after. Children and young teens at camp are extremely motivated and body conscious so summer camps use fitness camp / gym training as a way of allowing young people to adopt long-term healthy behaviours and achieve fitness goals.
The focus of the sessions tend to be a mix of nutrition, circuits/weights/cardio and mental health. Fitness at camp is an engaging and invigorating activity for the kids and staff alike and you can expect to run sessions for all ages and fitness levels.
From fun, athletic based games for younger campers to strength, core and cardio workouts on gym equipment for teens and staff – you need to be able to demonstrate a wide knowledge and ability to adapt to individual needs.
