Join Oyster and spend your winter season living and working in world-famous Whistler Blackcomb. We have a limited number of positions available within the Coca-Cola Tube Park for this season.
You’ll be working to assist with the set-up and running of the Tube Park on a daily basis. Work tends to begin at 11am (10am at weekends) which really is one of the highlights of this role. Given the late start, it is likely that you will have time for a ski/ride before work!
Positions generally rotate and you can experience operating the lift, starting guests on their tubes at the top of the park, booking guests in and selling tickets.
This job is demanding. You will be outside in all weathers throughout the season and will need to be physically fit to cope with the demands of lifting the equipment all day.
Standards are high in all jobs in Canada and this job is no exception. You’ve got to be a great team player, with a keen eye on safety and be able to work with a smile on your face in a challenging environment.
This is a full time role and you can expect to work 30-40 hours per week (with seasonal variations).
Expect to earn a good minimum wage of $13 per hour (approx £7 per hour). Most participants find the wage enough to be able to live comfortably, have a great social life and even save money for when they have finished the programme.
You will live in staff housing on Blackcomb Mountain which just happens to be next to the Tube Park! The cost of accommodation comes straight from your pay cheque (approx $12 per night).
Whistler offers over 8,000 acres of skiable terrain and an average snowfall of over 10 metres. Need we say more? When you’ve exhausted yourself on the slopes you can find your Oyster friends or work colleagues in one of the many bars and restaurants nearby.
Our UK staff will work with you to make sure everything is in place for your trip. Once in Canada you’ll have excellent support from our local rep, Tory who will become a great friend to you throughout your time in Whistler. During the season there are monthly meet ups for dinner and activities.
What experience do I need?
