My best kept secret

Updated 4 years, 2 months ago

As part of our competition to win two weeks on the Cook Islands, we're asking you to share your best kept secrets. The Cook Islands are the best kept secret in the Pacific Islands after all, so here are some foodie secrets I've discovered since moving to London. If you want to win two weeks on the Cook Islands, share your best kept secret via blog post, photo essay or video. {page_203}cook-islands

As a newbie to London I’m constantly coming across new sights, new sounds and new things to see and do, but, more importantly, I’m always finding new places to eat and drink so I thought I’d share some of the secret places I’ve stumbled upon.

Mongolian Grill Hot Pot at Clapham Common is a great place to sample some tasty Mongolian food. And the best thing is that every table comes with a mini BBQ and hot pot so you can cook up a storm.

I'm a bit of a sushi addict and one of my favourite places to get my fix is at Sticks 'n Sushi in Wimbledon.

We have a very special secret and we're lucky enough to have it right next to the gapyear.com office. Ohaio (otherwise known as Hole in the Wall as you get served through a little hole in the wall) does the very best Thai red curry in town.

I love this food busker at the Real Food Market. He has a few options you can choose from and he cooks it all up right infront of you. If you like it, pay him what you think he deserves. If you don't like it, tell him to take a hike.

I can't say no to a good chocolate brownie and the brownies at Esca coffee shop in Clapham South are pretty special.

The Real Food Market on London's Southbank Centre has some amazing tasty treats to try. The spicey curries are my favourite.

The Hummingbird Bakery simply has the best red velvet cupcakes in the whole entire world. I know that's a bold statement but it's true. They have to be eaten to be believe. Oh and they do a prety good latte too.

Barrio Central in Soho might not be the best kept secret in London but it is an amazing place for cocktails, especially around happy hour which runs from 5pm-8pm every night.

So there are my best kept secrets. What are yours....?
