Time minus 2 days 11 hours-ish.
I just found out that the distance between Glasgow and Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea is 8879.9 Miles or 14290.8 Kilometers. Oh lordy..
At the moment, in all honesty - I feel slightly detached from reality. Its a pretty great feeling to be truthful. I have been waiting on the next couple of days for so long now and although sometimes I have been wishing away the wait, now that the days are upon me, I am neither excited nor nervous. Its all very strange. Its hard to comprehend, that in a very short time - I will be away from family, friends, my home and pretty much everything I know for the next 14 weeks.
The length of time doesnt really bother me at all, in fact, the more I think about it, the more it seems far too short a time! I would dearly love to set out on a journey for a year or two, but obviously thats not possible yet.
Today was my last day at work and it went very well. I got lots of encouragement and my bosses even said that when I get back, I should come by and see about getting a job again, something I wasnt expecting. I think I will miss my weekend job, it was all pretty good fun and as for the people I worked with, I had alot of time for.
Unfortunately, I have a lot of work to be getting on with. Lots of juggling my money to get it to the right accounts before I leave, which is made more diffucult since the banks are closed for the next 2 days. Nightmare! I still need to make a start on packing all of my belongings for the new house. Help move some furniture with a little help from some friends(and have a farewell drink). Spend some quality time with the family, which will consist of a nice meal and the Indiana Jones flick(ooh yeah!). Write a report for Uni and get it away, I have no idea when this will happen though. Book a driving test for when I return home. And get a whole load of medical supplies!
