Start at the start………

“Well Hello….”
Err hmm, ladies, gentleman, blokes, birds and any other being who’s interested…….welcome to my world!

This is cool my very own on-line diary on gap year who’d of thought it eh what a privilege!

Right lets get some particulars up about me:

Full Name: Jane Elizabeth Spencer

Age: 28 …….soon to be 29 (I really don’t act it)

Profession: I’ve been doing the London thing for the past five years working in recruitment & attempting to be a “career focussed professional type” but it didn’t suit me very well and shortly I will be saying goodbye job, ditching the daft suits and saying a big “HELLO” to the world. Aaaaah, no more tubes, no more targets, no more annoying David Brent type bosses….at least for a while.

Why am I Travelling? To be honest it’s something that has always appealed and has been lurking around in the back of my mind for as long as I can remember. It wasn’t until one of my mates mentioned last September that they were thinking of some travel to Oz that I started to save money. We had thought maybe we might travel together but I guess I was more serious about it all and before I knew it I had a plan in place and my trip down under had grown to incorporate Singapore, Bangkok, New Zealand, Fiji and LA…way hey! I figured if your gonna travel that far you may as well stop and see a few other places round that neck of the woods.

I’ll be jetting off October 14th 2003 and after a short stop in LA I’m heading for Fiji, arriving in Auckland, November time where I’ll be doing some overland travel to Christchurch. I’m hitting Sydney in December then working my way over ground up towards Cairns, I’ll be flying to Western Australia – Perth in August and Singapore, September time then back to dear old Blighty in October 04! I have a working holiday Visa for Oz so hope to pick up some casual work along the way.

Likes: Pretty blokes with shoulder length hair

Dislikes: Mean people, monkey puzzle trees & peacocks (V bad experience)

Things you should know:

1) I’ve NEVER travelled extensively before and if you saw me (refer to picture) you’d probably think I’m the least likely person to grab a back-pack and hit the highway.….. but hey it takes all sorts don’t u think?

2) I hope to give you a fun yet informative insight into my travel experiences and I promise to keep it as entertaining as possible, feel free to ask questions and message me along the way and I’ll do my best to help.

3) I’m a bit silly, In that I mean “silly things” just seem to happen to me, I attract silliness don’t know why but it just happens….
