Hello again been a bit slack with my updates off late as I’m now in Thailand, so playing some serious catchup!!

I only spent a few days in Singapore as its not a massive place and wanted to spend extra time in Oz. But saying that still got to see and do a lot even though it was incredibly hot and humid as its only one degree away from the equator so walking around during the day is blooming hard work, but damm good exercise.

The main things I got up to were walking around little India and Chinatown. The aroma and gorgeous smells as you walk around are amazing. I got three different currys, rice and nann for about 1.5 English pounds total bargain and delicious, less than half the cost off the beer, got to have a beer with a curry, its like the law!!

Spent a lot off time looking around and inside the various temples and understanding more about the various religions around the world, which I knew nothing about before this trip. One thing that blew me away was how impressive all these buildings are, extremely pretty with superb decorations they really stand out with all the statues and figurines on the roof and around the temples. Also said a few prayers for my friend Nick who’s seriously ill in hospital, Ive got my fingers crossed for you mate.

Also caught he cable car over to Sentosa island, a pretty damm cool way to get there but its a very touristy place with man made beaches and various other tacky attractions but I did get to see the the merlion, the national symbol off Singapore half lion and half fish!! Pretty impressive thou. Also played the worlds easiest mini golf here, got a birdie on nearly every hole!!

Went on a boat trip on the Singapore river at night which was pretty damm cool and you really see the city come to life. Also went to lots off markets along various streets selling pretty much everything under the sun but didn’t buy too much as the prices are better in KL and Thailand.

When in Singapore you have to go to Raffles hotel where they invented the Singapore sling a damm nice hotel and a little out off my price range so I had to settle for a cocktail in the courtyard and at $18.50 for one drink a little expensive when you convert it again it is really not a bad price but as the old saying goes… When in Rome…..

Didn’t get time to go to Orchard gardens or go down the great Orchard road for shopping or may it down to Clarke (thinks its that) Quay maybe next time.

Rights that it for now I’m about to start an overland trip with Imaginative traveller hope it all goes well!!

James xx
